Merit Parents Association

MERIT EDUCATION PARENT ASSOCIATION (MEPA)

AN OVERVIEW

The Merit Education Parent Association, also known as “MEPA”, is made up of the principal, teacher representatives, and parents. MEPA’s basic principle follows that successful education is a joint responsibility amongst students and the above-mentioned individuals.

ROLE OF PARENTS

Parent members of MEPA focus on promoting qualities such as character development, fairness, integrity, and acculturation, most of which are of particular importance to new immigrants. In addition to understanding the school curriculum and helping with communication between students and the school, parents also actively participate in school meetings to plan different activities. Their feedback or input serves to improve school activities such as workshops, volunteer work, excursions or trips, and fundraising events, to benefit the overall learning experience of students.
