As a full-time student at Merit College, Jason has received the high­est mark in all six Gr. 12 courses with an overall average of 92%. In addition, as the Class President, Jason has always been a good role model for the other students, and has actively contributed to the Merit community. As a result, Jason has been accepted into all top engineering programs that he had applied to, including Waterloo and University of Toronto with an entrance scholarship of $2,000, and has decided to go to Waterloo to study Mechanical Engineering in the fall.


Jason has made significant achievements in IELTS, where within less than half a year of arriving at Merit, his mark has improved from an overall band score of 4.5 to 7.0, which is above the requirement to get into any top Canadian universities. He has also obtained a perfect score of 9.0 in the reading section, which is a remarkable achieve­ment. He was accepted into Ryerson, McMaster, and University of Toronto, and has decided to pursue Electrical Engineering at Ryerson University.



Having arrived in Canada for only a year, Katherine has distinguished herself by quickly adapting into the new environment, while mak­ing significant achievement in her studies. In addition to achieving an overall midterm average of 96%, Katherine has co-chaired Merit Education’s 5th Year Anniversary and Holiday Fundraiser for UNICEF. She will be studying Commerce at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Business, and she has received the largest entrance schol­arship of $5,000.
